It’s been awhile. I’m approaching the year mark of taking a step back from writing and publishing. Heck, I’m ashamed to admit this, but I don’t think I’ve even read a single book in 2022.
It’s been a year of refocusing on what’s important in my life. Giving my brain a break, and some very much needed time to heal from certain personal events.
However, I’m still a creator at heart who LOVES to learn. I took a Story Summit Holiday Extravaganza class last year. It teaches you the ins and outs of writing and getting a movie made for networks like Hallmark, ION, GAC, Lifetime, and so on.
I thought it was so inspiring and uplifting that I decided to take it AGAIN this year, and I was not disappointed. In fact, this live class has become so popular, that it sold out. The Story Summit decided to offer an encore class December 13, & 14.
It’s not a class to learn how to write a screen play. However, it discusses the business of movie making, elements a Christmas story needs, what the major networks are looking for, how to submit your script and so much more.
What I found value in was the people that came to talk to the class. These are MAJOR industry professionals who have decades of experience. It was so thrilling to be on a call with, and pitch to the people behind some highly recognized organizations and films. I especially loved the after hours talks where I feel like we got a real peek inside the film industry. Not to mention FOUR previous attendees of the class are having their movies made. If you know anything about the film making industry, you know how impressive of a statistic that is.
I know I’m sounding like a commercial, but honestly, this is the first time in a long time, that I’ve wanted to sit down at my laptop and write again. It also was a fun way to kick off the Christmas Season for me. Everyone is so kind and supportive as well. I’ve gained a few new friends!
The class is $130, but if you enter the coupon code “Nicole” at checkout, you get $30 off.
Confession time. I do get a little bit of an affiliate fee as well, but I assure you, this is my honest review. I’m newly invigorated by this class, and a proud member of the Summiteers!
