What is your pen name?

Josh D. Sanders

What genre do you write in? Why do you love it?

Urban Fantasy. I love the magic brought into our world. I like the idea of how magic would change our world.

How many books have you published?

Eleven.

What inspired you to become a writer?

I have loved stories since I was young. After reading Isaac Asimov I thought I could try it.

What is your indie success story?

Still working on those. I’m happy to see sales, and I love to see people read through either of my series. I’ve seen a couple months earning some real money.

What is the best piece of self-publishing advice that you’ve ever received?

If you write books, you are a writer. It helped with my struggle with imposter syndrome.

What are your marketing and advertising strategies? What works for you? What doesn’t?

Ads on Facebook and Amazon. I’m seeing better continued sales, but I haven’t figured out how to take it further.

What are you working on right now?

I’I’ve got 4 books in drafts, and I’m plotting another 2. I’m also preparing to start a podcast of my own.

Where can we find your work?

Have you written a book, but have struggled to get the formatting right using basic word processing programs?

Have you spent countless hours uploading a book into a self-publishing platform only to have it look messy and unprofessional?

Stop wasting your precious time and head over to Formatted Books.

Formatted books will help you and publish the best looking books possible. Their goal is to personalize each book to help it stand out in order to help you maximize sales. This is so important for indies, because we’re competing with professionally produced books.

In fact, they are so confident in the quality of their work that they back it with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

They are working on something for me right now, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Finding a cover designer is hard work.

Not only do you have to find designers that design for your genre, but you also have to vet them to make sure they are professional, you have to make sure they aren’t booked out.

You need to go to different websites, Facebook groups, and Instagram accounts to compare their work with other designers. OR you go to sites like Reedsy, and when you search for someone in your genre, it only yields a single designer. (Yes, this is the case for cozy mystery.) It’s sometimes like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I’m excited to announce the solution! The Cover Designer Directory.
