One of the most inspiring posts I see on my many author forums is when someone takes the time to share their story. Each Friday, I’m going to feature a different indie author to help inspire all of you!

What is your pen name?

Aaron S. Jones

What genre do you write in? Why do you love it?

Fantasy – It’s perfect for escapism and I’ve been influenced by so many different fantasy authors.

How many books have you published?

What inspired you to become a writer?

Just endless reading! Stories in all mediums draw me in and I just felt as though I had so many stories that I needed to tell.

What is your indie success story?

Being able to see people reading my book was enough of a success story for me.

What are your marketing and advertising strategies? What works for you? What doesn’t?

Must have a mailing list and website. Twitter and Reddit have been very useful.

What is the best piece of self-publishing advice that you’ve ever received?

Pay for an editor! Worth their weight in gold.

Anything else fun or notable that you would like to share about yourself?

I’ve worked as a teacher in England and the Middle East. Different locations have different effects on my writing.

What are you working on right now?

Flames of Rebellion released October 2020 and I have another two fantasy novels being editing in the hope of publication in 2021 and then a children’s book that I wrote for the class I currently teach.
