One of the most inspiring posts I see on my many author forums is when someone takes the time to share their story. Each Friday, I’m going to feature a different indie author to help inspire all of you!

What is your pen name?
What genre do you write in? Why do you love it?
My main and all-time favorite genre to write in is science fiction, especially with a post-apocalyptic edge. I love the adventure, the challenges for survival the characters often face, and how completely creative you can be with the genre.
How many books have you published?
One as of July 6th 2020, “Rivers, Weak Men and Wolves”
What inspired you to become a writer?
I have always had a passion for writing and felt that I am a natural storyteller. However, I was really pushed into writing after reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini when I was 13, and I learned how young he was when he published those books. It was so inspiring and what began my fiction writing journey.
What is your indie success story?
My success so far is that I have created a story that I am incredibly proud of. I believe that I have written a good, deep and unique story and i’m very excited to share it. Writing my book was also very cathartic to me, and it helped me work through some terrible things that were happening in my personal life at that time. So in that way my success was in helping myself.
What are your marketing and advertising strategies? What works for you? What doesn’t?
I’m still new to the game, but so far I’ve been sure to get as any Advanced Reader/Reviewer Copies out as I can, and am working to build up a solid social media presence.
What is the best piece of self-publishing advice that you’ve ever received?
Hire a professional editor!
Anything else fun or notable that you would like to share about yourself?
On top of writing, I am a co-founder of a consulting startup and working in real estate, so i’m very busy!
What are you working on right now?
I’m focusing on marketing “Rivers, Weak Men and Wolves”, as well as writing my next novel, currently titled “Honeybee”, which will be a YA sci-fi novel about a world where all of the bees have died off.

If you want to come to hang out and “talk shop” please join the Struggling Indie Author Facebook Group. It’s small right now, but I’m hoping to build it up over the next few months. Would you guys rather meet up on discord? I have no idea how to use it, but I’ll try to figure it out if there is interest.
Oh! One last thing, I added some free books to the required reading section of my site. You can check it out here.
