Indie Author Spotlight – JP Kaeden

One of the most inspiring posts I see on my many author forums is when someone takes the time to share their story. Each Friday, I’m going to feature a different indie author to help inspire all of you! I’m a bit behind on these. I plan to post one a day until I am caught up!

What is your pen name?

JP Kaeden

What genre do you write in?

I write in Fantasy and Speculative Fiction. My books range from young adult to adult.

How many books have you published?

One.

What inspired you to become a writer?

My love of books, love of reading and creating worlds. I often imagine stories and wanted to put it to paper. I actually really enjoy the writing process.

What is your indie success story?

I think just finishing and publishing a novel is a great success for me. I have only recently published so I have no idea what financial success or lack of awaits me but I am proud of myself. I also have finished the first draft of my second novel which is exciting. I can see myself doing this in the long term.

What are your marketing and advertising strategies?

Facebook and amazon ads. Email lists. Trying to direct traffic to website. I am new to this so I still don’t know what is working and what isn’t.

What are you working on right now?

Besides promoting my book Ethaze and the Shadow Court I have just finished the first draft of “Tarinja: Invasion” – a speculative fiction novel set in central Australia drawing on Indigenous stories. Anyone who wants to be an alpha reader – hit me up!
