Indie Author Spotlight – Nathan Ayersman

One of the most inspiring posts I see on my many author forums is when someone takes the time to share their story. Each Friday, I’m going to feature a different indie author to help inspire all of you!

I’ve been a bit behind on these as of late. I’m going to post one a day until I am caught up!

What is your pen name? Nathan Ayersman

What genre do you write in?

How many books have you published?

Two: “The Dragon’s Rising” and “Ox From His Field”

What inspired you to become a writer?

I’ve been an avid reader since I was in grade school. After a test in middle school, I doodled a sword with a hilt in the shape of a dragon, and from that doodle came the rest of the continent of Naegleria. I have had several people over the years who encouraged my ideas and read my writing to keep me inspired, and I greatly appreciate their support.

What is your indie success story?

I’m already financially stable from my career, so my writing is a hobby and I have yet to break-even on the investments I’ve made. The greatest success for me at this time was receiving a positive review of my book from someone whom I had not asked for a review. It made me feel like I had managed to get my story out into the world and reached someone who would have never read it otherwise. Sharing the world in my head is all that really matters to me.

What are your marketing and advertising strategies?

I have done a few paid promotions of my work on different websites and even did a radio spot in the UK, but I predominantly do interviews for blogs (such as this one), and advertise my books on self-promotion Facebook groups and on Reddit.

What are you working on right now?

I am currently working on the second book in my Ancient’s Armor series. I have been in a little bit of a writing rut lately, but I hope to get back into the swing of things and get it written over the next year.

Where can we find your work?

My author page on Amazon (where you can also find the two books) can be found here:

I also post updates on the process of my writing on my Facebook page:
