Indie Author Spotlight – Elizabeth J. Rekab

One of the most inspiring posts I see on my many author forums is when someone takes the time to share their story. Each Friday, I’m going to feature a different indie author to help inspire all of you!

What is your pen name?

Elizabeth J. Rekab

What genre do you write in?

I write in the young adult genre, primarily supernatural thrillers and paranormal romance.

How many books have you published?

One, with my second dropping in just a few days!

What inspired you to become a writer?

I’ve wanted to be a writer ever since I started reading RL Stine’s Goosebumps series in early grade school. I’ll never forget my first book, The Ghost at Gurnee Mills, complete with illustrations. The writing bug bit me then, and the little bugger hasn’t stopped biting since.

What is your indie success story?

I’m still awaiting my breakout success , but I’m trying every day to make it happen. The first real “success” moment for me came when I got to hold my own book in my hands for the first time. I’m not ashamed to say that I nearly cried.

What are your marketing and advertising strategies?

I’ve been working on building my email subscribers list as well as building up followers on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Also trying to get Amazon ads figured out, but those suckers are tricky! #keywordhell

What are you working on right now?

Promoting my debut novel Everhaven, while editing my second novel HAWNT, and writing my third novel (title to be announced soon). In short, I’ve been a busy (writing) bee!
