Indie Author Spotlight – Ben Walker

One of the most inspiring posts I see on my many author forums is when someone takes the time to share their story. Each Friday, I’m going to feature a different indie author to help inspire all of you!

***In observance of 9/11, I am posting the indie author spotlight today.***

What is your pen name?

Ben Walker-Storey, Cheap Chills, Buddy Onionring

What genre do you write in?

How many books have you published?

What inspired you to become a writer?

I’m an illustrator first, but I’ve found I’d rather illustrate my own words than someone else’s.

What is your indie success story?

My first indie coloring (and story) book, Monster Funk was given to Gilbert Gottfried and discussed on his podcast!

What are your marketing and advertising strategies?

The main thing I’m doing to advertise my books is building my audience on Instagram and Youtube. I’ve started an art channel that’s in line with my niche audience.

What are you working on right now?

I’m about to release my next indie book, Gnats in a hat. This is a fictitious journal by a fashion writer, who interviews insects about their clothing. I’m also recording for my YouTube channel. The art and subject-matter that comes up, I am compiling into a book. Oh I’ve also just started a new podcast, Living Full Addams. My wife and I discuss how to live like the Addams Family.

Where can we find your work?
